Sanphy Thomas joined JKP as Managing Director in October 2018. She has worked in publishing for over 20 years, starting her career at Blackwell Publishing before moving on to Routledge, Palgrave Macmillan and SAGE Publishing. Her background is marketing and she is a strong believer that good publishing comes from having a deep understanding of markets and engagement with consumers.
Mark Scott, Sales Director
Mark has worked at director level in the book publishing industry for twenty years and has a wide range of sales experience across many different markets and channels. He joined JKP in 2014, and is responsible for managing the company’s sales in the UK and Export markets. Mark’s portfolio of customers is ever expanding and encompasses traditional booksellers, wholesalers, special sales, professionals and electronic sales.
Stephen Jones, Editorial Director
Steve Jones is Editorial Director for JKP’s Health, Social Care and Mental Health lists and currently commissions around the areas of social care, adoption, fostering and trauma. He has over 20 years of industry experience, spanning social sciences, education and business publishing. Lisa Clark, Editorial Director
Lisa Clark is Editorial Director of JKP’s Autism & Neurodiversity and Education lists, as well as the Singing Dragon imprint. These days her own commissioning tends to be solely for the Autism list. Claire Wilson, Editorial Director
Claire Wilson commissions across the Singing Dragon list, covering acupuncture and East Asian medicine, yoga and bodywork, nutrition and other complementary medicine areas. She joined JKP in 2014 and prior to this was Commissioning Editor at Elsevier publishers where she managed the Complementary Medicine list. Andrew James commissions books for JKP’s market-leading Gender Diversity list. Prior to joining JKP in 2016, he was Senior Commissioning Editor at Palgrave Macmillan, and in 2018 he featured on The Bookseller’s list of Rising Stars. Amy Lankester-Owen, Senior Commissioning Editor
Amy Lankester-Owen commissions across dyslexia, SpLDs and neurodiversity, including autism in the teen years. She previously commissioned politics for Palgrave Macmillan and social work and child psychology here at JKP. Sarah Hamlin, Commissioning Editor

Kaja Murawska, Senior Rights Executive
Kaja joined JKP in August 2019. She handles translation rights sales worldwide. Most recently she has been at Quarto, selling rights and co-editions across multiple lists. Earlier she worked with publishing houses, literary agencies and scouts in the UK, Poland and Switzerland. Kaja graduated with a BA in English and German Literature from the University of Durham and with a MA in Publishing from Free University of Berlin.

Victoria Peters, Production Manager
Vicki joined JKP as a Production Editor in 2009 and in 2017 became Production Manager, overseeing the publishing process from manuscript delivery to finished print. The team works closely with a trusted pool of freelance staff to ensure all titles are published to schedule, and JKP’s high editorial and design standards are always maintained. Vicki is an English graduate of the University of Nottingham.
Lily Bowden, Marketing Manager
Lily joined JKP in April 2016. Prior to entering the publishing world, she worked in marketing for creative and advertising agencies. She studied English Literature and Language at Nottingham University. She now looks after the marketing for the Gender Diversity list. She also manages the publicity for all of JKP’s trade titles. Lily is included in The Bookseller's 2019 list of Rising Stars.

David Corey, Vice President of Sales and Marketing
David manages the U.S. sales and marketing office for JKP. His responsibilities include overseeing the JKP staff in the U.S., inventory and fulfilment management, direct marketing, and key account relations. He has worked in the book-publishing industry for two decades, at such houses as W. W. Norton, Tuttle Publishing, and University Press of New England. In addition to his work with JKP, David also teaches classes and seminars on both the craft and business of writing, and is a former board member of the New Hampshire Writers' Project.
Katelynn Bartleson, Marketing Manager
Katelynn handles all queries regarding author outreach, direct marketing, publicity and reviews in the US. Katelynn has worked at JKP since 2009, including a stint as an intern at the company. She has experience in sales, customer service and digital marketing. She is a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, PA with a degree in English, concentration in American Literature, and a certificate in Creative Writing. Stephanie is responsible for implementing and maintaining up-to-date information in major U.S. databases; monitors stock levels at the U.S. warehouse and manages reorders for stock replenishment. Julia Zullo, Sales Account Manager
Julia joined the team in September, 2017 as Relationship Coordinator after receiving a Master’s in Education from Lehigh University. Some of her responsibilities include building relationships with readers, researching consumer needs, and assisting in the development of marketing campaigns. Prior to JKP, Julia worked at the Stephanie Tade Literary Agency. She has a background in social work and is passionate about the overlap of publishing and social change. Julia graduated with a BA in English Literature from the University of Virginia.
Carolyn Farnham, Marketing Executive
Carolyn became a member of JKP in 2019. Prior to publishing, she taught through the Teach for America program and worked as an educational consultant. She has a BA in English from Yale University and studied publishing at New York University’s Publishing Institute. At JKP, she works on the Autism & Neurodiversity, Inclusive Education, and Religion & Chaplaincy lists.
Sarah Temple, Marketing Associate
Sarah joined the JKP team and the world of publishing in December 2019 after previously working at a digital marketing agency. She now markets the mental health, social care, adoption/fostering, arts therapies and health professions lists to US audiences.
